Congratulations to Woodland Hills Elementary School for being honored this week as one of the 343 schools state wide to receive the coveted Distinguished School Award. The new principal this year Steve Bluestein is continuing to build on the school’s heritage of academic excellence built on collaboration between its motivated student body, terrific teaching staff and very active and supportive parents.
This recognition will come as no surprise to anyone who follows academic test scores because our wonderful Woodland Hills neighborhood kids continue to archive test scores at the very top of the charts ranking within the top two percent of schools statewide. The state’s on site inspection team was not likely surprised by what they found in the classrooms, but was likely blown away by how lovely and tranquil the campus is, thanks to the beautification efforts of the parents led by Lisette Tuohy. Don’t be surprised if you soon see Scenic Drive signs leading off the 101 taking you to WHES.
