Taft High School Students Enjoy Benefits of Beautification Project

The popular corner of Ventura Blvd and Winnetka Ave is now a lot more comfortable for the Taft High School students who congregate there after school while waiting for the many buses that service the location.

Rose bushes, benches, new sidewalk surfacing, a mounted trash can and, best of all, an “Econo-Green Syngrass” to cover the former dirt patch that simply wouldn’t hold grass because of the significant foot traffic.

Club Red Square – Police Commission & Zoning Administration & WHWCNC Board

This is a busy month for Club Red Square as the Police Commission, the Zoning Administration and the WHWCNC Board all act to investigate and rule on the operations of the Club and review the various permits and conditions that regulate Club Red Square.

Neighborhood Council Convenes At Warner Center Park’s Bredlow Pavilion

The Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council Board Meets on Wednesday night at 6:30 pm at Warner Center Parks Bredlow Pavilion and hosts the Department of Plannings Code Studies Unit for a presentation on Planning Code Reform.

Woodland Hills Warner Center NC Announces Open Board Seats

The Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council is a representative body whose purpose is to represent the community in advising the City of Los Angeles, to represent the Community on quality of life issues and to work with the City of Los Angeles to ensure the effective delivery of services to the neighborhood.

Rick Cole joins the WHWCNC “Panel of Visionaries” for the Aug 16th Community Forum

Rick Cole has been City Manager of Ventura since 2004, emphasizing accountability, a balanced budget, civic engagement and smart growth.

Called “one of Southern California’s most visionary planning thinkers” by the Los Angeles Times, Cole is widely cited as an urban policy expert. He was honored by Governing Magazine as one of their nine “2006 Public Officials of the Year,” the only City Manager in the nation to earn that distinction. Governing cited his “intense focus on the details that add up to a vital city.” He currently serves as a member of the International City/County Managers Association Sustainability Advisory Committee and is a member of the American Planning Association, the Congress for the New Urbanism and the Urban Land Institute.
